Confederate Artillery Button - Brass Back

This brass two piece excavated Confederate Roman "A" artillery button with brass back is in very good condition.  These buttons were crudely made to begin with and this one is no different.  The button's face has a dirty brown greenish patina showing period wear and tear with very minimal ground action.  At the 2 o'clock position there is a line but I am of the opinion that this is a manufacturing flaw and not a crack.  The blank brass rear is in good condition and has a leaning shank which is secure.  There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs.  This button displays beautifully and will make a nice addition to any Confederate button collection.  Ref. Tice's CSA243A1 and Albert's CS 117A.  Approximately 23 mm.  $170.00  Ordering Information  or  Questions
