Comments: Pinfire revolvers, pioneered by Casimir Lefaucheux in the 1830s and patented in 1854, gained popularity in Europe and were used by various armies from the mid-1850s until the late 1890s. Pinfire revolvers, particularly the 12 mm Lefaucheux Model 1854, were used by both Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War, with the US Ordnance Department testing and purchasing them. This example will be an excellent addition to any cartridge or general relic collection.
