These seven clay pipe bowls are all from a relic collection recovered primarily in the area of Namozine Church and Petersburg, VA. All of the bowels are unique, in very good shape, and some even have partial stems. Other period excavated examples can be found in the following Civil War reference books: "Civil War Artifacts" by Howard Crouch on pages 31 & 32, also in "Excavated Artifacts From Battlefields and Campsites of The Civil War" by Stanley S. Phillip on pages 135-137, and also in "Excavated Artifacts From Battlefields and Campsites of The Civil War Supplement I" by Stanley S. Phillip on pages 166-169. These pipes will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War campsite or general relic collection.
