Item: Pattern-1853 .577 Caliber Enfield Rifle/Musket Socket Bayonet
Construction: Iron
Condition: Excellent, possibly excavated but also possibly a battlefield pick-up, barn, or attic find. Minimal rusting and pitting. The locking ring with screw are present and fixed in place. Several spots of what appears to be old red paint are at the neck and socket. There is very slight upward bend of the tip beginning approximately 2-inches in. There are no breaks or repairs.

Approximate size: 20-1/4 inches overall length; 3-inch socket length.
Comments: This solid Enfield bayonet will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bayonet, weapon or general relic collection.
