Brass Under Plug for Confederate Bormann Time Fuzed Artillery Shell

SOLD

This excavated brass under plug, for Confederate Bormann time fuzed artillery shell, is in excellent condition. Found in Bormann fuzed shells, under plugs supported the soft metal of the fuze from being damaged during firing. This brass under plug has a very pleasing dusty green patina, and the threads, while not perfect, are in fairly good condition. It measures approximately 1-inch in diameter and is approximately .328 inches thick.
