Bullet In Wood

This chunk of wood has a visible fired bullet still solidly lodged inside as shown in the images. The deformed bullet has a light grey patina with rings and base visible. Both bullet and wood weigh approximately 1-1/2 ounces and its overall dimensions are approximately 2 x 3-3/4 inches. There are no repairs. It was recovered from a Civil War site in the area of the Seven Days Battles which were a series of battles occurring June 25 to July 1, 1862, near Richmond, Virginia.
