Item: Burnside Carbine Cartridge - Excavated High Quality
Caliber: .54
Construction: Conical lead bullet with brass cartridge.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, solid. The bullet has a grey white patina and with no dings. The cartridge has a mixed green-brown patina with no dents, cracks, breaks, or repairs. The ignition flame hole in its base is visible. 
Recovered: During the 1970s from the Petersburg, VA area.
Approximate size: 1-5/8 inch length.

Comments: Today, diggers are not likely to recover cartridges in this condition. If you want a high quality excavated example then this cartridge will be an excellent addition to any Civil War cartridge, bullet, or general relic collection.
