Fruit Ration Can

SOLD

This fruit ration can, recovered in the Seven Days Battles area, is in remarkable condition and appears to be an early recovery from dry sandy soil. While it is not perfect, it is still solid with only a rust-through hole and break in the bottom end. The sides are in good shape with only a few tiny pin holes and no dents. The top end was clearly opened with a knife to access its contents. There is thick lead seam running the length of the can. It measures approximately 4 x 4.67 inches.

Ration cans are rarely recovered in this condition anymore and this example will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War campsite or general relic collection.
