Item: Cavalry Crossed Sabers Hat Insignia
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, wire loops missing. The device has a dusty green patina with no cracks, breaks, repairs. There is some minor bending from period use.
Recovered: East cavalry field off Hanover Rd., Gettysburg, PA
Approximate size: 1-3/4 x 3-3/8 inch.(length measurement from tip-to-tip of the scabbard drags)
Comments: This solid cavalry insignia will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War insignia or general relic collection.
