Company Letter "M"

Item: Company Letter "M"
Construction: 
Stamped thin sheet brass and wire loop.
Condition:
 Very good, excavated, wire attachment device missing. The letter is very solid, and the brass has a very pleasing green patina. The left upper portion is slightly bent to the rear causing the lower left leg to be bent upwards. There is a very light layer of encrusted soil in areas on the rear. The device has no cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Malvern Hill, VA area.
Approximate size:
 1 x 1 inch.

Comments: These delicate company letters are very difficult to excavate in any condition. Of all the letters, the letter "M" is particularly difficult to recover in any condition. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War insignia or general relic collection.
