Item: Confederate .69 Caliber Gardner Bullet
Condition: Very good, excavated. This very large bullet has a tan-white patina with only a very few areas of surface chipping which is primarily along the base rim's edge. The mold seam is still lightly visible and there are a couple of flaws in the area of the rings, but are likely a result of an imperfect mold. The bullet's skirt is well rounded and this example has a shallow base.
Comments: .69 caliber Gardner bullets are some of the largest bullets used during the Civil war and recovering them is a rare event. This huge bullet will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bullet or general relic collection.
Recovered: Harpers Ferry, WV area.
Approximate size: .676 x 1.18 inches.
