Title: A Pictorial History of the Confederacy
Author: Lamont Buchanan
Publisher: Bonanza Books, MCMLI (1951)
Construction: Hardback with dustcover.
Pages: 288
Approximate size: 8 x 11-1/4 inches.
Condition: Good, previously owned. While the dustcover shows wear, minor edge tears, and scuffing the book itself is in good shape with minor discoloration on the rear end page. A former owner's name is in blue ink at the top of the loose front-end paper. The book is in pretty good shape after 71 years.
Comments: The pages from the book shown in the additional images represent only a fraction of the hundreds of illustrations included such as: on-the-spot drawings by Confederate soldiers, Sheppard sketches, Brady photographs, Volck engravings, Chapman oils, with descriptions and other documents. This early pictorial history will be an excellent addition to any Civil War reference library.
