Item: Confederate Artillery Coat Button - Lined A
Backmark: Blank
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Design: Lined Roman letter "A" on a plain field.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, secure shank present and bent to rear. Dark green patina. Front has moderate push. Small amount of encrusted soil residue. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs. 
Recovered: Amelia County, VA
Reference: Tice: CSA203A5 Albert: CS 102
Comments: This Confederate artillery coat button was acquired directly from the family of the local Virginia digger, and it will be an excellent example addition to any Civil War button or general relic collection.
