Backmark: "E.M.L & C. RICHMOND. VA." rmdc
Construction: Medium convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. It has a very nice brown patina with no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Comments: This button is absolutely stunning and the high resolution images do not acurately reflect the beauty of its even brown patina. The back mark lettering is some of the strongest I have come across. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
Recovered: Spotsylvania County, VA.
Reference: Tice: CSI240A1 Albert: CS 181
