Comments: For several reasons, these heavy duty Infantry buttons are one of my favorite relics of the Civil War. Its simplicity in design, its weight, and manufacturing crudeness, make a very attractive and thoroughly Confederate produced and used button. These buttons were made to last and, what I find most appealing about this particular example are the distinct manufacturing lathe lines mentioned above. This outstanding Confederate infantry button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
