Design: Roman "I" on a plain field.
Construction: Medium convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, shank partially present. The front has a dark brown patina with a moderate push to the center. The rusty iron rear is solid with no holes. No cracks or repairs.
Recovered: Unknown

Comments: These buttons are referred to as "puff I's" due to the depressed area directly next to the rim and surrounding the Letter "I", resulting in a "puffed out" appearance of the button front. This Confederate infantry button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
