Item: Confederate Infantry Coat Button - Script "I"
Backmark: Difficult to see but believed to be "S. ISAACS CAMPBELL & Co / LONDON / 71 JERMYN. ST" dm
Design: Lined old English "I" on a plain field.
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, secure shank present. Overall brown-green patina with moderate ground action and wear. The backmark is worn and difficult to see. No pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Spotsylvania County, VA area.

Comments: This button was acquired directly from the digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
