This solid and well-constructed cast brass excavated Confederate cavalry spur exhibits the manufacturing crudeness typically found in relics produced by the southern foundries and manufacturers. Its surface has a very pleasing overall dusty rich green patina. Both arms and strap plates have mild bending likely from period use. It measures approximately 2-7/8 inches wide and 4-1/8 inches long. Recovery location is unknown. No cracks, breaks, or repairs.
