Design:
 The front shows Alexander H. Stephens, barrel, cotton bales, etc. in the center. The note is hand numbered and signed. Printed on the note is: "Six Months after the Ratification of a Treaty of Peace between the Confederate States & The United States of America. / THE Confederate States OF America / on demand WILL PAY on demand TWENTY DOLLARS to bearer. / Richmond / SEPT: ..2ND 1861. / FUNDABLE IN 8 PER CENT STOCK OR BONDS OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA / RECEIVABLE IN PAYMENT OF ALL DUES EXCEPT EXPORT DUTIES."(except where canceled). The rear is blank.
Approximate size: 3-1/8 x 7-3/8 inches.
Condition:
 Very good. Moderately crisp paper, borders are nearly complete, edge nicks, creases from folding, some discoloration and small scuff mark at right middle edge.

Comments: Notes which are "Cut Canceled" or "Cut-Out-Canceled", as in this case, simply indicates that the note was paid and collected by the government. This cut-out-canceled Confederate twenty dollar note will be an excellent addition to any Civil War note or general relic collection.
