Item: Excavated CS Tongue for Two-Piece Waist Belt Plate.
Construction: Solid cast brass with raised letters "CS" and belt loop.
Condition: Very good, excavated. The brass has a yellow dusty deep green patina. There is a downward bend of the belt loop but no cracks, breaks, or repairs.

Keeper Height: exterior 49.00 mm / interior 39.72 mm
Keeper Width: exterior 14.00 mm / interior 4-5 mm
CS disc diameter: 31.77 mm
Bar Width: 16.77 mm
Bar Length: 15.41 mm on edges / 14.41 mm in center.
Comments: This tongue has that absolutely wonderful "been there, done that" look. If you are looking for Confederate piece that has clearly seen action then this one is for you. This buckle will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War plate or general relic collection.
