Item: Federal 3.8-Inch James Bolt
Gun: 14 pounder James rifle, 3.8" caliber.
Construction: Cast iron.
Approximate size: Weight: 11.6 pounds; Diameter: 3.67 inches; Length: 7 inches.
Condition: Very good, excavated. As dug, still in the rough with no coating. The iron is stable, and the shell's surface has a minimal amount of pitting and build-up. Its lead and tin sleeve sabot is no longer present. No repairs and ready for display.
Recovered: Fayette County, WV
