Fuzing: Zinc Parrott Type III
Sabot: Navy wide brass band.
Construction: Cast iron.
Approximate size: Weight: 25.4 pounds. Diameter: 4.14 inches. Length: 12-3/8 inches.
Condition: Very good, fired, excavated, with light-moderate surface pitting. Its zinc percussion fuze is in very good shape. Its brass wide band sabot is no longer present. The shell has been deactivated.
Gun: 4.2 inch (30-pounder) Parrott Rifle
Recovered: Unknown
Comments: This fine artillery shell will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
