Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, secure shank present. This very solid button has ample gilt. There is a minor push to the shield. No cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Wilderness, VA area.
Reference: Tice: GEN215A33 Albert: GI 94A
Comments: General service eagle buttons are rarely recovered with any gilt and this one is a nice looking example. This button was acquired directly from the digger and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
