Item: Federal Ordnance Coat Button
Backmark: "* U. S. * / ORDNANCE CORPS"
Construction: Convex, three-piece.
Approximate size: 21 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. This button has a very pleasing deep green patina. While the backmark is present, some of the wording is difficult to see. Many US Ordnance buttons recovered have at least one crack or break in the rim, however, the rim on this example is complete. The button has no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
