This Limited First Edition copy of Field Artillery Projectiles of the American Civil War by Thomas S. Dickey and Peter C. George is in excellent condition. It is numbered 1261 of 2,000 copies and is signed by BOTH AUTHORS. Copyright 1980 and published by Arsenal Publishing Company of Atlanta, Georgia. This 1980 edition is extremely important to artillery collectors not only because of its useful information on shells and fuzes, but also due to the fact that the widely used "Civil War Collector's Price Guide" section on "Artillery: field projectiles" uses reference numbers which correspond to this particular edition. The reference numbers found in the 1993 edition do not correspond. There are 505 pages in this book and nearly every page has a large black and white picture of one type of projectile or piece of artillery. The book measures 9 x 11 1/4 inches and has a hardcover with cloth covered boards. See additional images for contents. This is not only a great reference book for the collector but also a rare opportunity to add to your library a signed and numbered copy.
