This heavy non-excavated M-1833 Grimsley light artillery saddle stirrup is in very good condition. It is constructed of cast brass which has a darkening dull brass patina. There is slight period wear with minor nicks primarily on one side and on the bottom of the tread. It measures approximately 5-1/8-inch (overall width) x 6-1/4-inch (overall height) x 1-3/4-inch (depth of tread) and weighs 1 pound 6 ounces. It has no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War saddlery, artillery, or general relic collection.
