Item: Horse Harness Heart Shaped Martingale
Use: Decorative
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass. Rear with solder fill and three thin iron attachment hooks.
Approximate size: 2-13/16 x 2-14/16 inches.
Condition: Good, excavated. The brass face has a chocolate brown patina. The lower point of the heart is damaged and is missing a portion of the rim. The remaining rim is complete and is good shape with the exception of a couple of minor dents. The rear lead is nearly complete with some loss in the area of the rim. The iron attachment hooks are no longer present.
Recovered: Virginia, but specific location unknown.
