Construction: Round, two-piece.
Approximate size: 18 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. The button has a green-brown patina with mild surface ground action. There are no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Charlestown, WV area.
Reference: Tice: GS200A Albert: GS 1 & SU 1
Comments: These buttons, resembling musket balls, were used by the Zouave militia units and cadets.
