Letter "M" - Cast Brass

Item: Letter "M"
Construction: Cast brass.
Approximate size: 11/16 x 7/8 inch.
Condition: Excellent, excavated. The brass of this thinly cast letter “M” has aged into a very pleasing dusty chocolate brown patina. The attachment hooks are no longer present. It has no bends, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: CS site in Tazewell, TN
Comments: This device likely adorned a hat indicating company. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War insignia or general relic collection.
