This small to medium size non-excavated military style brass spur is in excellent condition and has a nicely aged bronze patina. Its rowel is present and moves freely. According to Howard Crouch, author of "Historic American Spurs", these spurs date anywhere between 1860 and 1900 and were sold commercially. A similar example can be found in Crouch's book on page 69, item MS3. This is an very nice example and will make an excellent addition to any 1800's spur collection. Approximate width is 3 inches and length is 4 1/8 inches. $55.00 or Questions?
