Militia Belt Buckle Tongue

Item: Militia Belt Buckle Tongue
Construction: Cast multi-piece brass or copper, with applied tongue disc.
Condition: Good, excavated. Dusty yellow-brown patina. The applied stippled tongue disc has two small holes that presumably held a device to its front. One of the holes is still retains a bit of the wire. The number "1" is stamped into the tongue bar. There are no cracks, bends, or repairs.
Recovered: Brandy Station, VA area.
Approximate size:  Belt loop height 46 mm. (see images for a additional measurements)
Reference: The same ornate design adjacent to the belt loop of this buckle tongue is found on fully cast examples (without applied disc) of South Carolina militia tongue and wreath belt plates pictured in the following reference books:
