Comments: According to "Uniform Buttons of the United States 1776-1865" by Warren K. Tice, "Makers produced both of the following variants with crudely cut dies during the 1840s and 1850s. Collectors have excavated examples at Civil War sites." This button will be an excellent addition to any Civil War button or general relic collection.
