Item: North Carolina "Sunburst" Coat Button - High Quality

Construction: Low convex, one-piece. Die-struck thick gilded sheet copper.
Design: Eight-pointed raised star presented on a plain field. The raised letters "NC" found in the center are on a stippled, matte background within a raised ring.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, Secure shank present. Very attractive with ample gilt on front, rear and rim, all on a brown patina. The letters "NC", stippling and surrounding rays are strong. The button has no cracks, breaks, bends or repairs.
Recovered: Chancellorsville, VA.

Comments: This NC sunburst button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
