This excavated brass curb chain for horse bit is in good condition and has very pleasing dusty brown-green patina. Curb chains are typically a flat linked chain that ran under the chin groove of a horse as part of the curb bit. The links of this curb bit are more rounded, and its overall length measurement is approximately 5-3/4 inches. There are no repairs, and its recovery location is unknown.

If you have a bit that needs a chain, then this one will be a very nice addition. It will also be an excellent example to add to any excavated Civil War horse tack, campsite, or general relic collection.
