This excavated carved Civil War bullet was recovered from a campsite in the area of Cedar Creek, VA. and was acquired directly from the Virginia relic digger. Occasionally bullets are recovered with whittle marks or, in rare instances, intricate carvings, hand-crafted by soldiers using their pocket knives just to pass the time. The bullet's base has been mostly carved away leaving two strips believed to have once formed a closed loop which is now open. It appears to be a nose cast bullet. Approximately .576 x .90 inch. It has an overall tan patina and will be an excellent addition to any excavated carved Civil War bullet or general relic collection.
