This picket bullet for country rifle is in excellent condition and has a nice white patina. The closest similar example I can find in the bullet reference book "Civil War Projectiles II Small Arms & Field Artillery with Supplement" by W. Reid McKee and M. E. Mason, Jr., is M&M 12 on page 22. They list this bullet as a .56 caliber Confederate bullet but since there are so many variations of these bullets, you will have to be the judge on this one! This bullet measures .538 inch in diameter at its base and .752 inch in length and this bullet will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bullet or general relic collection.
