Pre-Civil War "Eagle on Cannon" Artillery Button

Construction: Flat, one-piece.
Approximate size: 22.5 mm.
Condition: Fair, excavated, shank missing. Gilt remaining on front and rear. The button is slightly bent but has no cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Comments: According to Albert's "Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons Bicentennial Edition", this button dates to 1808-1821 and will be an excellent addition to any excavated pre-Civil War button or general relic collection.
