Token Dated 1863

SOLD

This excavated 1863 dated anti-slavery Civil War token was issued in the size of a typical U. S. penny. The coin bears a Liberty head with the motto: "Liberty and No Slavery" on one side, with a military motif on the other. It was acquired directly from the digger, Robert Braswell, Jr. of Gaston, NC who recovered many fine relics from both North Carolina and Virginia over several decades. Learn more about Robert and his years of relic detecting by clicking on his name above. This 1863 dated token has no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War period token or general relic collection.
