Sometimes relic hunters are the unfortunate recipients of cruel displacements of more modern firearms. This post-Civil War toy handgun was recovered in Petersburg, VA in the 1960's by Grayson Morris of Hopewell, VA. I am certain that Mr. Morris was thrilled to have uncovered what must have appeared to him as Civil War pistol only to be let down upon further examination. A find such as this clearly indicates that these hallowed Civil War grounds have been traversed over the years by more than just the Yankees and Confederates. I believe this toy gun to date to the early 1900's and possibly manufactured by Kenton. It measures 5 inches in length and some of the parts are still operable.
