US Artillery Coat Button

Construction: High convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, secure shank present. This button has a brown patina with enough gilt to highlight the letter "A" in its shield. Amazingly, the shank still retains a small portion of the original coat fabric. While there is a slight push to the upper right portion of the shield it has no cracks, breaks, repairs, or other pushes.
Recovered: Winchester, VA.
