Item: Federal Artillery Cuff Button

Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 14.5 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, secure shank present. This button has an even brown patina. Its front shows a raised letter "A" in the center shield of a spread wing eagle clutching arrows in its left talons and an olive branch in its right talons. There are no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Brandy Station VA area.
