US Waist Belt Buckle - Arrow Hooks
Item: US Waist Belt Buckle - Arrow Type Hooks
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass with raised large letters "US". Rear with solder fill and brass arrow belt attachment hooks.
Condition: Fair, excavated. Its brass front has a chocolate brown patina. Nearly all of the rim is missing leaving in a jagged edge. The rear solder is present supporting what remains of the brass front. All three hooks are present and secure. There are no repairs.
Recovered: Charlestown, WV area.
Approximate size: 53 x 82 mm. (dimensions short due to missing rim).
Comments: This buckle is not a perfect example and therefore not for everyone, however, it is for the collector that appreciates that "been there, done that" appearance. It will be an excellent addition to any Civil War buckle, plate, or general relic collection.
