Item: US Belt Buckle - Arrow Type Hooks
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass with raised tall letters "US". Rear with solder fill and brass arrow type attachment hooks.
Condition: Fair, excavated. Its brass front has a pleasing green patina. Portions of the rim are either cracked, bent or missing. The rear retains most of its solder with portions missing in the area of the rim. A portion of the rim appears to have been re-bent back into place. While one belt attachment hook is missing, both arrow hooks are present, with one pointing up, and the other pushed down to the rear.
Recovered: Spotsylvania County, VA area.
Approximate size: 55 x 84 mm.
Comments: This US belt buckle was acquired directly from the digger and, if you like that war torn appearance, then this one is for you. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War buckle, plate, or general relic collection.
