Item: US Infantry Cuff Button
Backmark: "SCOVILL / EXTRA" dm
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 14 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. This solid button has a brown patina with remaining gilt nicely highlighting the letter "I", shield, and eagle. It has no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Culpeper County, VA

Comments: This button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
