Backmark: Unreadable, but research leads to "SCOVILL. Mfg. Co.". dm
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 14 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, secure shank missing. This handsome button has plenty of gilt remaining on its front. There are no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Fisher's Hill, VA
Reference: Tice: MC218As5 Albert: MC 10Av.
Comments: There are 11 stars above the eagle with fouled anchor. This button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
