Backmark: "* WATERBURY BUTTON CO * / EXTRA" dm
Construction: High convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. Covered in gilt with some light green. No pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Strawberry Plains, TN
Reference: Tice: GS220B1 Albert: GS 11
Comments: According to "Uniform Buttons Of The United States 1776-1865" by Warren K. Tice, "This (button) is a Waterbury Button Co. variant".  This button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
