Item: Excavated US oval waist belt plate.
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass with solder fill and arrow type brass attachment hooks.
Condition: Fair. Its brass front has several freeze cracks with a brown patina with areas of lighter discoloration from ground action. The rear has most of its solder but is missing a portion in the area of its rim. Only one of the three attachment hooks remain and there is some bending in the areas of the rim.
Recovered: Culpeper, VA
Approximate size: 58 x 89 mm.
