Item: Federal Artillery Cuff Button

Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 14.5 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. This button is loaded with gilt over a brown patina. Its front shows a raised letter "A" in the center shield and a spread wing eagle clutching arrows in its left talons and an olive branch in its right talons. There are no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Wilderness, VA area.
